Can we take a minute to talk about Sarah Hyland’s head turning look at last night’s Emmy Awards? The 24-year old “Modern Family” actress hit the red carpet in a Zac Posen gown that let the world know that she is no longer the baby-faced teen we’ve spent our Wednesday nights laughing with. She is a grown woman with a body to kill for and fashion sense that is going to shake up the red carpet.
The Twitter-verse went crazy over Sarah’s floor length wine colored gown. But as I sat 3,000 miles away from one of Hollywood’s biggest nights I was as interested in the sophisticatedly seductive makeup and chic haircut that made up the flawless look.
Renowned make-up artist Allan Avendano crafted Sarah’s smoky eye and dewy skin. His flare for subtle glamour has taken Sarah Hyland from the pages of Nylon Magazine, to her spread in Complex Magazine and even to her new campaign for Aritzia! For the Emmy look Avendano wanted to “introduce the Fall season to sizzling and sunny Los Angeles”.
Dior Dream Skin
To prep the skin, Avendano used Dior Dreamskin and brand new Dior Prestige La Crème that he claims are the star’s long-time favorites. The products are part of the luxury brands new skin care line. Beauty bloggers rave that the creamy potions leave the skin dewey and glowing. For that perfect smoky eye, Avendano used Dior 5-Couleurs eyeshadows. The limited edition palettes offer five shimmering shades that allow you to be as subtle or as whimsical as you want to be. If you are dying to know how Sarah got the brows that might make Cara Delevingne double-take, you’ll want to get your hands on the Diorshow Brow Styler Gel.

For Sarah’s full nude lips, the artist used the Dior Crème De Rose, a smoothing plumping lip balm. The sultry flesh-toned lip color comes courtesy of the new Dior Addict Lipstick. I haven’t gotten my hands on the “catwalk inspired” line yet, but if it will make my lips look like Sarah’s did last night I may be in need of make-up rehab!
Dior Crème De Rose
Sarah made waves when she swapped her signature chocolate locks for a fun, flirty and modern dark blonde bob. Last night she sported an asymmetrical part and soft flowing waves. As a perpetually tanned brunette, I may just take the challenge and see if blondes really do have more fun.
Stay tuned for highlights as red carpet season heats up!
